Privacy Policy

FireCycles is a ceramics process tracking and glaze intelligence platform. We help potters and ceramic artists document their work, track firing cycles, manage glaze recipes, and share their craft. The service is currently in early beta.

When you create an account, we collect:

• Account info: Email address, username, display name
• Profile info: Bio, avatar photo, unit preferences
• Content you create: Pieces, glaze recipes, firing records, stories, photos
• Usage data: Page views, feature usage (anonymous, aggregated)
• Feedback: Bug reports and feature requests you submit, including browser info and page URL

We do not collect payment information during the beta period.

• Provide, maintain, and improve the FireCycles service
• Respond to your feedback and support requests
• Send important service announcements (e.g., breaking changes, data migrations)
• Aggregate anonymous usage statistics to guide development

We will never sell your personal data or share it with advertisers.

Your data is stored on infrastructure we operate directly:

• Database: Self-hosted PostgreSQL (via Supabase) with row-level security
• Media: Self-hosted S3-compatible object storage (MinIO) — photos are never publicly accessible
• Hosting: Application served via Cloudflare with SSL encryption

All connections use HTTPS encryption. Authentication is handled via secure, httpOnly cookies. We use row-level security policies so users can only access their own data by default.

You have the right to:

• Access all data associated with your account
• Export your data (available from Settings > Export)
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Correct inaccurate information in your profile

We use essential cookies only:

• Authentication cookies: Keep you signed in across sessions
• Onboarding cookie: Remember that you completed account setup

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics services.

FireCycles currently uses Cloudflare for DNS, CDN, and SSL termination. Cloudflare may process connection metadata (IP addresses, request headers) according to their own privacy policy. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar tracking tools.

FireCycles is in early beta. This means:

• Features may change, break, or be removed without notice
• We may need to perform data migrations that temporarily affect availability
• We make best-effort backups but cannot guarantee zero data loss
• We recommend keeping local copies of important recipes and records

We may update this policy as FireCycles evolves. Significant changes will be announced via the app. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
